Dwayne Johnson is The Rock, now more than ever.
The former WWE wrestler owns the trademark rights and intellectual property (IP) rights to his stage name, which he still goes by decades after leaving the sport.
TKO Group Holdings, the company that owns WWE, gave Johnson the rights to the moniker, as well as a number of other nicknames and iconic catchphrases from his time in the ring. The filing comes as the "Black Adam" star joined the company's board of directors last month granting him ownership over what the company calls "Rock IP."
"'Rock IP' means any and all Intellectual Property Rights throughout the world at any time owned by the TKO Group Parties, or any of their respective affiliates," the filing said.
'The Rock Just Bring It' among IP gains
The 51-year-old actor also owns the trademark rights to his signature tagline: "If you smell what The Rock is cooking," as well as his titles "Jabroni," "The Brahma Bull," "The Samoan Sensation" and "The Great One." He also owns IP rights to phrases like, "Know your role and shut your mouth" and finishing moves like the "Rock Bottom."
Johnson also owns the intellectual rights to the following ring names and taglines:
- Rocky Maivia
- Team Corporate
- Rock Nation
- The Nation
- Roody Poo
- Candy Ass
- The Blue Chipper
- The People’s Champion
- The Great One
- Team Bring It
- The Rock Just Bring It
- The People’s Elbow
- Finally, The Rock has come back to ...
- It doesn’t matter what…
- Blue Hell
- The millions… (and millions)
- Rockpocalypse
- Project Rock

The Rock teases appearance at WrestleMania XL
The Teremana Tequila founder has teased a match at WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia. The WWE event is set to take place on April 6 and 7 at Lincoln Financial Field.
The actor will also appear on the WWE show Smackdown on Friday in Glendale, Arizona, which airs on FOX at 5 p.m. ET. He is set to return the following two weeks, including on March 8 in Dallas, Texas, and March 15 in Memphis, Tennessee.
"Greatness is coming this Friday night," Johnson wrote on an Instagram post. "Finally your life is going to have meaning. Get off your fat (explitive) and be inspired by all this greatness in the flesh."
