Awards season is in full swing as the entertainment world gathers to honor excellence in the industry. The Grammy Awards, often called "music's biggest night," will return to Los Angeles Feb. 4 to spotlight some of the business' brightest stars.
Nominees were announced by the Recording Academy in November with 94 categories total, including three newcomers: best African music performance, best alternative jazz album and best pop dance recording. The "big four" categories – song, record and album of the year, plus best new artist – scaled back their total nominees from 10 to eight.
