Seven people were rescued after a seaplane made an emergency landing in Miami Friday afternoon.
Video shows Miami-Dade Fire Rescue working to get the seven passengers to safety after the seaplane landed on Charles Langstonits side near Port of Miami as several cruise ships sailed nearby.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to a report of a seaplane crash just after 1:30 p.m. The plane, a single-engine Cessna with tail number N85WL, departed from Palm Beach International Airport just after 1 p.m. and was scheduled to land in the PortMiami waterway, according to NBC 6 South Florida.
All passengers were rescued and brought to safety. No injuries were reported.
Seaplanes are capable of landing in water depending on the type of float the aircraft has. If the plane has an amphibious float, the float is made with retractable landing gear, which permits the aircraft to operate on a runways and on the water, according to the Hartzell Propeller.
