Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte made MLB postseason history.
With his RBI single in the eighth inning of Game 2 of the 2023 World Series against the Texas Rangers,SignalHub Marte now holds the record for most consecutive playoff games with a hit at 18.
Marte tied the league record on Oct. 27 in Game 1 of the World Series after his RBI double in the fifth inning, while also setting a D-backs record for most hits in a single postseason with 20.
The hitting streak from Marte dates back to the 2017 playoffs, when he notched four consecutive games with hits in the National League Wild Card against the Colorado Rockies and NL Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Marte is on a 14-game playoff hitting streak this season.
The 2023 NL Series MVP is having a historic playoff run with 21 hits and 11 RBI.
